Bazaar Bizarre – Arts and Crafts in the Park

An annual two-day craft event is taking over the County Fair Building at Golden Gate Park on Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, 2009 from noon to 6 p.m.

The Bazaar Bizarre is much more than a showcase of arts and crafts, but also a chance to support small businesses and celebrate their handmade talents. With more than 120 vendors gathering in one convenient location, it's going to be awfully hard to resist the temptation to load up on creative trinkets and masterpieces – especially with the holidays just around the corner.

Not only do you get to meet, chat and barter with T-shirt printers, knitters, designers, and crafters, but you'll also enjoy a welcome educational outlet with free craft workshops that could very well encourage your own creative endeavors to come alive. The event will also provide entertainment, music, and food.

With a $2 fee for admission per adult and free entry for visitors 12 and under, prepare yourself for a rewarding afternoon. You may even walk away winning something at the raffle.

Run Wild For A Child Event

After your stomach has recovered from juicy slabs of turkey (or Tofurky) and sweet cranberry sauce, why don’t you shed a few extra pounds at the Run Wild For A Child event (10K Run/Walk and 5K Run/Walk). For 25 years going strong, this Thanksgiving weekend run takes place in the beautiful setting of Golden Gate Park at the Bandshell/Music Concourse on November 29, 2009 (8:30am sharp to 11:30am)

Why is this event called Run Wild For A Child? The run/walk supports our Bay Area children by helping the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Drive collect donations of new unwrapped toys.

Those who participate in the 5K run/walk are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite childhood toy, and compete for prizes presented by Southwest Airlines – including Southwest Airlines tickets and a Hotel Carlton Luxury Weekend. However, everyone's a winner at the event, all registered runners receive a long-sleeve T-shirt with full color event logo and goodie bag. Medals are given to the top three men and women in nine different age categories.

Join the post race party held at the Bandshell/Music Concourse following the race to receive valuable information and enjoy free samples given out by sponsor booths. The cost to participate in the Run Wild For A Child events is between $15 and $35. For more information, contact Nancy Nobriga at (415) 759-2690 or info@rhodyco.com.
